This was a fun, relaxing shoot in Bishop, CA, with my neighbor and musician Stelth Ulvang for his upcoming record release. "Let It Fall" is a nostalgic and poignant song yet also forward looking in how it talks about letting go. We wanted to capture that optimism yet nostalgia and so decided on a higher frame rate to give us that dreamy look. We had our colorist Lee capture some natural pink from that evening and design the overall tone around it lending to a dream-like, melancholic feeling.

Stelth spent years hitch hiking around the world with a friend with the backpack featured and he's also presented here in his signature no shoes style. The hitch hiking premise is a nod to that time. The random occurrences like with the motorcyclist or the instruments allude to stuff that happens on the road. Sticking to the song's idea, jumping into the water is a baptism for Stelth and we tried to capture that idea of curiosity and optimism by having him drift away out of frame. What is around that bend in the river, nobody knows.
